Question: HDMI and Sony PS3/TV Help!?

( Back )

Answer #1:

Usually if an HDMI cable is bad, you won't have any signal at all. Check the spec's on the cables as it is possible one of the cables is older. I am linking you to a cheap HDMI cable that is the current spec. I use them with my PS3 and I have a Sony KDL-52XBR6 with an LG 2.1 surround HTIB.

Answer #2:

The tv and cable is probably not the problem it seems like the PS3 cannot recognize the HDMI handshake .
This has been occuring in the new model PS3 with different kinds of LCD's .
Try powering on/off the switch that is on the side and then go back to settings and try it again .

Answer #3:

I would make sure that your cables are set for HDMI version 1.3. The best place I've found to buy HDMI for a decent price is on Ebay, seriously. I have bought all my cables on Ebay and have never had a single problem.
